The Volunteers of the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library
The Jane Stern Dorado Community Library welcomes volunteers. Their services enable the library’s staff, which must spend a great deal of time serving the walk-in public, to function more efficiently and effectively. Volunteers bring us program ideas, help plan activities, decorate for holidays, organize story time, translate library documents and notices, help supervise children’s activities, perform circulation tasks or provide us with all kinds of expertise. Some come as needed for a specific task; others prefer to come for two or three hours at a time on a regular basis.
The library has a great need for volunteers to help out at the reference/circulation desk during the week or on Saturdays. Tasks may include helping to process new books for cataloging, shelving, processing returns, preparing books for shelving or selling. If a candidate has some knowledge of Spanish, he/she can deal with the public. Candidates must be able to provide a minimum of two hours a week.
The library also looks for volunteers with experience in various professions from teaching to programming, to human resources. Please check our News listings to see what special services the library is seeking. Fill out the application form below and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring it to the library, where we will make every effort to match volunteers to their interests and available jobs and activities.
