Circulation Services
Library members can borrow and renew circulation materials, place holds, and access databases remotely. Materials may be borrowed for a period of 14 days. Membership applications are available at the front desk. Please refer to the Membership and Library Card Policy.
Library Collection
The Library offers traditional print materials, audio-visual and electronic media.
Books: Fiction and nonfiction for a variety of tastes and interests, best sellers, books for children, teens and adults. Magazines and newspapers: The Library has print subscriptions to several magazines and newspapers.
Audio-visuals and electronic media: Videotapes, audio cassettes, CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs are available, including instructional materials and music.
Equipment is available at the library for viewing and listening.
Computer and Internet Use
Computers are available for the use of the clients on a first come/first served basis when no class is in session in the lab. The computers have a variety of popular software programs that can be used. The Internet can also be accessed through the Library computers. Users are responsible for legal, moral, and ethical conduct in the use of computing resources.
Wireless access to the Internet is also available for Library members. Please refer to the Membership and Library Card Policy.

Databases
Several databases licensed by the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library are available to its members on-line. These databases can be used by Library members at home via the Internet or at the Library. In order to use the databases the member requires a user name and password.

Reference Services
Reference librarians help clients make the best use of the Library’s resources, and assist them in finding information on virtually any subject. Requests for information are filled from a wide variety of sources, including the Library’s print collection, online databases, and the Library’s directory of high-quality Web sites.
Programs at the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library
The Library offers a wide variety of programs to appeal to many interests in the community. The Library may charge a fee to cover costs for programs it sponsors. Other programs offered by outside suppliers are fee-based. To participate in any of the library’s programs, you must be a Library member.
The programs offered at any one time may change. Check the Library Calendar on the website or visit the Library for schedule information. Currently, Yoga, Spanish as a Second Language, Computer training, Music Together for Toddlers. A summer program for children is offered in June.
